Chris & Sophie's native wildflower Balmain wedding
An intimate Balmain wedding with scenic views of the harbour featuring colourful natives.
During these unprecedented times more & more couples are opting for smaller, more intimate weddings - & we are here for it! So we were ecstatic when Sophie got in touch & said she wanted some simple native flower additions to hers and Chris' micro wedding.
The details
The brief was colourful, native & cascading. Sophie wanted a large pink King Protea as the feature, surrounded by various natives & gum. Because this was a Spring wedding there was a wide variety of beautiful Australian & South African wild flowers in season. In addition to the King we used Venus Proteas, Grevilleas & Amaranthus combined with Wax, Billys and Paper Daisies. And of course we couldn’t resist putting in a boho dried palm!
Chris’ button hole features some of the delicate flowers & colours from Sophies’ bouquet which was finished off with twine.
On a beautiful sunny day Chris & Sophie tied the knot in Ballast Point Park which has the perfect balance of native greenery with panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. In a quiet spot, they were surrounded by their nearest, dearest & even their dog made a special guest appearance. After the ceremony, they went and took some shots around the park & harbour with the incredibly talented Kelly Jury.
Chris, Sophie & their guests then went via double decker bus to The Fenwick in Balmain where they continued the celebrations with a low key lunch. We created a beautiful native flower cake topper to CAKE by KMcQueen to continue the native theme of the wedding.
Below are some offer fave images from the day.
“Thank you so much, they are absolutely stunning. You couldn’t have created a more perfect bunch for me.”
